Still Looking Catalogue

Still Looking brings together oil paintings drawn from my experiences of modern dating and the everyday life surrounding it. At its centre are five paintings based on real dates. Each connection felt unique while I was inside it. Seen together, those moments begin to reveal pattern. Online dating offers the illusion of endless choice. I am interested in the disposable nature of that culture and the tension of participating in it while searching for something lasting.

Painting becomes a way of making something permanent from experiences that can feel temporary Alongside the dating works are West End streetscapes, still life’s and paintings of the people and objects around me. Together they trace the anticipation, the encounter, the journey home and, eventually, beginning again.
